The Stafford Hotel Chooses Longden Doors

The Stafford Hotel situated in the heart of London in St James’s, Mayfair and is one of the capital's foremost small, luxury hotels with AA Red Star status. The respected Andrew Harper Hideaway Report in 2006 voted this hotel as the best in London and number two in the world in the International City Hotel category.

Having started its life in the 17th Century as a stately residence, the building is steeped in tradition and history which points to why Longden doors were integrated into this superior hotel. Such a structure demands perfect symbiosis of all the elements and Longden solid timber hardwood doors fit perfectly, adding contemporary splendour whilst retaining the hotel’s distinctive period flavour.

Chippendale, raised and fielded panelled doorsets, in a 3-panel Grosvenor style, hang amongst antique pieces defining the space - simple yet grand. Door panels have been replaced with glass to channel light as it streams through windows which overlook the peaceful courtyard; the beautiful mixture of white panelled doorsets, glass and solid timber has been designed to work within the environment whilst adding to the prestigious feel of this hotel; performance is not compromised by design and, as you would expect, Longden doors meet all modern performance requirements; fire, smoke and acoustic.

Like the Stafford Hotel, Londgen has a proud history stretching back over more than a hundred years; manufacturing excellence has led to doorsets hanging in some of the UK’s finest buildings including the new Celtic Manor 2010 Golf Club in Wales, the Connaught Hotel, the Dorchester Hotel and Buckingham Palace.
