Longden doorsets were specified for the recent refurbishment of Whitley Hall Hotel in the north of Sheffield.
300 years ago, Whitley Hall played host to the ill-fated Mary Queen of Scots while she was in the custody of the Earl of Shrewsbury at Sheffield Castle. Today, the ivy-clad 16th Century mansion, with its impressive estate and beautiful gardens, is the perfect venue for conferences, weddings and romantic getaways and is recognised by Johannsens, the world’s leading hotel guide.
An exclusive combination of Chippendale raised and fielded panel and Sheraton flat panel doors were provided in Longden’s Lincoln 3-panel and Chelsea 6-panel door styles - the perfect choice to help preserve the hotel’s heritage whilst enhancing its ambience of comfort and luxury. At the same time, the doorsets deliver all the performance requirements of a world-class hotel, including fire resistance, smoke and sound reduction.
Longden doorsets come in styles and constructions to suit contemporary hotels as well traditional ones. In fact, as a truly bespoke manufacturer, Longden adapts and creates beautiful, hand finished solid timber doors to suit every conceivable project, the only limit being the designer’s imagination.
Combining generations of craftsmanship with modern manufacturing techniques, Longden has brought tradition and innovation to some of the UK’s finest hotels. Recent projects include the Connaught and Stafford Hotels in London, the Celtic Manor Twenty Ten clubhouse and the Lake Vyrnwy Hotel in Wales.
