This type of doorset has the following performance characteristics:
Interior quality (not suitable for exterior doors)
Fire resistance to BS 476: Part 22: FD60 or FD60S
Sound reduction: 28 RW dB (with acoustic seals)
Security: Non rated
Nominal thickness: 58 mm.

Fire performance:
The doorset supplied will be an FD60 fire door, or an FD60S fire door where smoke control is specified. Third party accreditation is provided by the BWF CERTIFIRE product conformity certification scheme.

Smoke control:
Doors which require smoke seals can be identified on a door schedule, or they can be specified in this item. Insert, e.g.
Required for doorsets identified on schedule.
Required.

Acoustic performance:
28 dB RW

Range:
Insert one of the following:
Chippendale (raised and fielded – 45 mm thick, fielded down to 26 mm around perimeter of each panel).
Sheraton (flat panel, 26 mm thick throughout).

Pattern:
Those most frequently specified are illustrated in Door Styles. Insert Chelsea, Lincoln, Sussex, Chester, Edinburgh, Boston, Dorchester, Bath or York etc. Alternatively, where a different variation is required, insert, e.g. Non standard as drawing.

Moulding profile:
Refer to the illustrations in Door Components and insert one of the following:
Ovolo
Lamb’s Tongue
Duplex
Stepped Ovolo
Square shoulder
Non standard as detail drawing.

Applied mouldings:
These are optional, depending on the level of decoration required for the panelling. Select from the range of bed moulds, bolection moulds and panel beads illustrated in Applied Mouldings and insert, e.g.
Bed mould, ref. BM1, BM2 etc
Bolection bead, ref. BL1, BL2 etc
Panel bead, ref. PB1, PB2 etc
Non standard as detail drawing

Material and Finish as delivered (door leaf):
Guidance is included for doors with a variety of factory applied finishes:
Acrylic primer:
- Material: Insert Hardwood. The species will be selected by Longden.
- Finish as delivered: Insert Opaque primer and specify a site applied paint finish in NBS section M60.
Polish:
- Material: Insert species of hardwood selected from BS EN 942, National Annex NA, table NA2. Alternatively, insert Hardwood as table NA2 in BS EN 942 and leave the choice to Longden.
- Finish as delivered: Insert Clear lacquer.
Tinted lacquer:
- Material: The options are the same as for polish.
- Finish as delivered: Any BS or RAL colour can be specified. Insert Hyalux Tint lacquer and include colour reference if not shown on a separate schedule.
Left clean: This option is not normally recommended, but could be specified where all of the finishing system has to be applied on site, e.g. clear varnish.
- Material: The options are the same as for polish.
- Finish as delivered: Insert Left clean.

Glazing details:
Where required, individual door panels can be glazed. Two standard options are available for FD60 and FD60S fire doors. Insert, e.g.
6 mm GWPP for panels shown on drawings.
6.5 mm clear for panels shown on drawings.
Not applicable.

Safety glass will be provided according to the requirements of BS 6262:Part 4. Other types of glass can also be specified where agreed in advance with Longden.

Frame:
Insert Longden standard profile (95 x 57 mm for FD60 and FD60s fire doors) or Non standard to detail drawing.

Material, Class and Finish as delivered:
Guidance is included for frames with a variety of factory applied finishes. The finish does not need to be the same as the door leaf, e.g. a polished frame can be specified with a painted door leaf.
Acrylic paint system:
- Material: Insert Hardwood. If hardwood is specified, the species will be selected by Longden.
- Class: Insert J30.
- Finish as delivered: Any BS or RAL colour can be specified. Insert Opaque paint system and include colour reference if not shown on a separate schedule.
Acrylic primer:
- Material: Insert Hardwood. the species will be selected by Longden.
- Class: Insert J40.
- Finish as delivered: Insert Opaque primer and specify a site applied paint finish in NBS section M60.
Polish:
- Material: Insert species of hardwood selected from BS EN 942, National Annex NA, table NA2. Alternatively, insert Hardwood as table NA2 in BS EN 942 and leave the choice to Longden.
- Class: Insert J30.
- Finish as delivered: Insert Clear lacquer.
Tinted lacquer:
- Material: The options are the same as for polish.
- Class: Insert J30.
- Finish as delivered: Any BS or RAL colour can be specified. Insert Tint lacquer and include colour reference if not shown on a separate schedule.

Ironmongery:
This clause assumes that all items are listed on an ironmongery schedule, including those to be supplied or supplied and fixed by the doorset manufacturer.
Preparation: Longden recommend that factory morticing should be carried out for all recessed fittings. Alternatively this can be carried out on site. Insert, e.g.
Factory morticed by doorset manufacturer.
Site morticed by others.

Hinges: These are always supplied and fixed by Longden. Insert required finish – Bright zinc plate. Stainless steel, Brass, Chrome plated or Powder coated (to any RAL colour reference).
Locks: These should be specified on the ironmongery schedule. This item should identify which items are to be supplied, fixed, or supplied and fixed by Longden. Insert, e.g.
Supplied and fixed by doorset manufacturer.
Supplied by doorset manufacturer and fixed on site by others.
Supplied and fixed by others.

Fire seals:
These are included as standard to ensure the doorset achieves the stated fire performance. With pairs of doors the primary leaf will always feature an exposed combination seal at the meeting style. Intumescent seals are fitted to the door frame. Where smoke control is specified, a combination intumescent/smoke seal will be fitted to the door frame.

Acoustic threshold seals:
Two options are available. Insert Wipe seal with low profile aluminium threshold (the standard type) or Automatic Dropseal.

Fixing:
Factory drilled frames are not available for Longden doorsets.
